TCPWave: Born in the Cloud, Made for the Cloud

TCPWave

CIO VendorMurali Sappa, CTO
“TCPWave’s innovation in the cloud, and our multi-pronged approaches to mitigate DDoS attacks differentiates us from the competition,” says Murali Sappa, CTO, TCPWave. The firm is the first to marry automation with cloud technology for on-demand security to mitigate the risk of DDoS and other cyber-attacks. Their advanced RestAPI technology and preconfigured automation tools can create secure DNS networks in almost any public cloud, securely and instantaneously, with a few mouse clicks. It gives their customers the power to absorb any DDoS attack regardless of size. “TCPWave is the only company that can leverage multi-cloud technology to dynamically create diversity and redundancy on demand as soon as a DDoS attack starts,” adds Sappa.

Today’s DDoS attacks are great enough to take down the largest customers and some of the largest carrier/ISP networks. TCPWave’s solution: Use all major carrier ISPs and Clouds for diverse external DNS to possess a single DNS network that can scale up or down to absorb the largest known and unknown attacks; managed on demand from a single pane of glass. As threats grow, pressure mounts within an enterprise's data security team to process various reports. Understanding this business challenge, Sappa says, “With analytics and data mining as a core component of the TCPWave IPAM, DDI customers will notice a significant difference in the analytical data available from a permission based access to the TCPWave IPAM. We foster DevOps integration without restrictions and we provide SQL access to our database repository.”

TCPWave prevents DNS outages by diversifying and synchronizing DNS in multiple cloud offerings from one dashboard

TCPWave’s IPAM also provides higher security with technologies that address scalability and simplicity. They were the first to introduce several new security innovations such as: Dual DNS, granular Segregation of Duties complying with OCC/SEC, Dynamic DDI topology and they are the first to eliminate the insecure UDP based DNS updates with proprietary, secure tunnel between the IPAM and remotes. TCPWave’s IPAM can securely manage internal and external DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management in the traditional datacenter and across multiple public and private clouds. Having seen operational errors and customers that demand intelligence in the management layer to detect and prevent DNS outages, Sappa says, “TCPWave prevents DNS outages from taking place by enforcing a very strong set of data integrity constraints. An accidental typo or a human error in a DNS resource record gets detected with the validation engine before your mission critical DNS is updated.”

Their latest innovation; pre-built DNS cloud images for various clouds like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud,Oracle/ DYN and more will allow their customers to reduce costs by managing cloud and data center DNS services together from one dashboard. “TCPWave’s IPAM is built with modern technologies, fully utilizing current trends. It provides a single-pane of glass for managing DNS data both on premise and in cloud,” adds Sappa. This allows their customers to reduce costs by right sizing their DNS networks while leveraging on demand growth only when needed. This new concept replaces the old expensive methods of overbuild, increasing OpEx and idle servers taking up valuable space and electricity.

Starting as a DNS security company, TCPWave kept expanding its horizons to provide secure, scalable DDI service and cyber-security for the largest enterprise organizations. Highlighting the importance of cyber security, Sappa says, “Our IP Address Management solution is engineered from the ground-up with security and performance as the main drivers, while improving the user experience. TCPWave is the only cost effective company in the market today to stream live DNS and DHCP logs into Hadoop clusters and leverage Big Data analytics.”
