Check your smartphone, social media feed, or Internet-of- Things device: Data breaches are ubiquitous–and cyber security is our first and last line of defense.
Government networks, in particular, face unceasing, tenacious threats from malicious attackers and hackers, interconnectivity issues, hardware hang-ups, acts of God, and good, old-fashioned human error.
Protecting these networks sounds like a very tough assignment, doesn’t it? It’s actually even tougher when you consider that budget constraints continue to squeeze resources for these critical protections, and the ever-changing alphabet soup of regulations and standards makes true compliance a stressful, if not improbable objective. As a consequence, literally every government agency can use some degree of help from an outside expert who specializes in government networks protection.
Enter IT-CNP. The Columbia, MD based consulting firm provides IT operations and cyber security assessments, in addition to turn-key FISMA compliant, FedRAMP-certified cloud solutions via its unique hosting division, GovDataHosting.
The firm exclusively serves government agencies.
“IT-CNP was one of the first national providers of government oriented, FISMA-compliant cloud hosting in the country, and to this day remains one of the only facilities that uniquely and exclusively caters to the needs of Federal, state, and local government customers,” says Information Security Compliance Manager, Cynthia Gibson.
Gibson, who previously provided multiple Department of Homeland Security agencies with risk assessment support, is now responsible for the delivery of IT-CNP’s cyber security and security compliance services for the firm’s portfolio of GovDataHosting cloud customers.
IT-CNP’s cyber security offerings include policy development, security control assessments, compliance, forensics, analysis, and incident response.
We are proud to be supporting the current and quickly evolving cyber security needs of the Federal government
By identifying vulnerabilities and implementing corrective measures, its experts reduce the risk of compromised systems, bolster the protection of agency information, and ensure that governmental policies and regulations are addressed consistently across all platforms.
“We always deliver on-time and within budget, and we come up with comprehensive and innovative solutions to government cyber security challenges,” Gibson says.
While transitioning a major Department of Health and Human Services data warehouse, for example, IT-CNP provided the requisite security services to ensure the system adhered to the Federal government’s rigorous security standards during transition to GovDataHosting Cloud Platform environment. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) were subsequently evaluated, documented, assessed, authorized, and protected in accordance with FISMA, HHS agency and HIPPA regulations.
Similarly, IT-CNP has transitioned a military customer from a government-operated datacenter to its own cloud infrastructure, while ensuring that the Department of Defense’s challenging and complex compliance requirements were met. According to Gibson, this resulted in an immediate operational enhancement that drastically improved the Service Level Agreement’s turnaround time and facilitated modernization.
For more than 15 years, IT-CNP has earned customer trust with hundreds of stories like these, complemented by its state-of-the-art cloud datacenters, government oriented cyber security services, and a track record of delivering result-oriented service performance. Now, the firm is looking to broaden its reach.
“We are extending our cyber security offerings and FedRAMP cloud solutions to the south and southwest of the country to be sure that we provide a coast-to-coast presence for civilian agencies as well as the DoD,” says Gibson, noting that the firm is currently looking to add two additional cloud datacenters to its portfolio.
With services available on a number of government contract vehicles, including GSA Schedule 70 and the U.S. Army ACCENT program, IT-CNP has carved out a niche in a demanding industry by offering nothing less than 100 percent customer satisfaction.
“We are proud to be supporting the current and quickly evolving cyber security needs of the Federal government, and being part of what it takes to protect America’s cyber security infrastructure,” concludes Gibson.
